I like the painting because it shows strong character, control, and i guess success, and should be kept away from your baby’s room Mr. Lindsey!! lol It’s too creepy.

  2. Noris Benitez says:

The Owl looks not just creepy but menacing. It’s eyes are staring directly at the viewer. Although it does seem very proffesional and well dressed. The owl is an interesting animal yet hard to see since it only comes out at night.

  3. Jose Rodriguez says:

What a neat painting! I wasn’t sure what to think of it at first.
The owl itself looks somewhat evil and frightening, but the suit adds a little humor to the painting. It’s a strange painting, but that’s what makes it so good. Great contrast!

  4. Bree K. Amie says:

I think the owl painting is one of an everyday businessman/ woman. Stearn, focused, and in charge. I like the painting and i think it could be used as a movitational painting but only in Mr. Lindsey’s room. He’s just that cool!!

  5. Edgar Lucero says:

The owl is giving the viewer that eyebrow look like “The Rock.” He kind of looks like the owl is confident and professional.

  6. Kristen Millsap says:

The picture of the owl in a suit is playing on the common connotation of an owl as wise. When you first look at the owl, it seems like a simple painting of a wide eyed owl. While some people may look at it and walk away, if you really look at the picture and take some time, you can see so much more that what first meets the eye.
The first time I looked at it, it seemed like a very angry professor. Scolding me for not doing my homework. The only question I have of this is: why is it that the owl is portrayed as a wise, all knowing being?

  7. The owl looks very determined and focused. As if it had a goal to achieve in life. Its dressed very professional which makes the owl look intelligent and successful.

  8. Margarita Sanchez says:

This is a neat picture of an owl, although comical. However the owl is known to be wise and smart the picture may say it all. This owl is also portraying an image of a successful achiving person.

  9. Miguel Lara says:

The owl looks determined and unstoppable. The way he looks in this picture makes it seem as if he is on a mission and must get through it or else something bad will happen. In the other hand, he looks very professional and unique. Nice picture.

  10. Erika Burciaga says:

This painting symbolizes how a successful person should be, determined with a strong character, focused, and professional. its a unique but nice picture.

  11. Maria Velazquez says:

Honestly I don’t like this painting so much, it gives me an uncomfortable feeling. It looks very forbidding and authoritative. The colors convey bitterness and malevolence. The owl’s sharp beak and polished attire gives the very impression of a absorbed worker. I don’t like the green shading. For sure it conveys maybe what the artist wanted to depict but it isn’t necessarily a work of art I would hang on my wall.

  12. Javier Ruiz says:

The owl in the painting seems as if its looking at the viewer in a determined way. This painting symbolizes success because the owl face looks very serious. The first time I saw this painting, the first thing that I noticed was its big eyes which seemed menacing. The meaning of this painting might have a connection with the animal because the animal is nocturnal which is rare in other animals.

  13. Claudia Martinez says:

This painting for me depicts a commanding glare from the owl ,yet a wise suggestion. I agree with Maria Velazquez it does show a very forbidding and authoritative figure but maybe a zealous character within. Its stare seems very attentive, like its telling you to rethink actions before the owl with the suit(himself) presents you to the consequences.
    - I like it, it derives different perspectives for everyone.

  14. Desirea De Luna says:

The owl in my sense represents character more of a family figure. Stern in control as if someone in the family who is wise and useful for advice as to were to be in life. Yes, at first site there is an owl first glympse seen is his eyes and how wide they look but maybe it some sense the eyes depict a sense of seeing into knowledge and having seen all. It seems as if very closely there is a raise in his eyebrow maybe the owl is thinking. Its pretty well distinguished picture and very motivational to the fact that an owl is symbolized as wise and we as people should be wise and in control of some or our choices we decide to make in life.
[p.s. some students are right you should present this picture in your class like the illustrated earlier is ver motivational, and like wendy said keep it away from the babies room!]

  15. Jorge cantu says:

From my perspective the owl represents something like big brother always watching you , And that sense that no matter what you do there is no way to escape his gaze , Not only does his keep that person in a state of fear but it also keeps them on there toes ready for any thing that life may or may not throw at them . The owl also shows sophistication/class the kind of press and clean look you would get from someone who is successful It may also be a goal to reach .

  16. Julio Garcia says:

Hmm….The owl is a very cool and flying bird, that its job is to take mail to diffrent places, well at least in Harry Potter it is.In my own words and opinion this is an awesome and proffesional that takes its owlness business seriously,if i was to get into a fight with that serious looking owl i would lose.I think that the painting represents how people should be represented in society, which is serius and ready to handle our business :)

  17. Celinda Reyes says:

This owl appears to attempt to “dress to impress”, and is trying to look very determined, serious, and meacing. Personally, I think that this owl is symbolic of the youth of our society. The owl appears to be trying to look like something he is not, he is an owl and he is trying to look like a CEO, just like young people who are very intelligent, but hide this by trying to look like a gangster, or something else they obivously are not.

  18. Cristina Sanchez says:

In my opinion, if the owl wasn’t dressed so dorky, then I might say that the owl looks very professional, but honestly that suit doesn’t work for him. I like this portrait because it’s serious yet funny. Owls symbolize wisdom. The way it looks at you is creepy. It feels like he’s watching me type, it feels pretty weird.

  19. Mayra Cantero says:

the own in this painting makes me feel a little disappointed and embarrassed of myself, i feel as if the owl is an authoritive and somewhat wise being which is giving me a look of concern and reproach, in a scouldingly way.

  20. Mr. Lindsey I know “Owls” are your favorite :) which is unusal because alot
of people don’t really like them and are afraid of them. This painting makes the owl look very professional because the tie and the yellow/gold vest it is wearing. The look in the owls eyes make it seem like there is something the owl has its eye on or is just amused with something its seen.

  21. Mayra Cantero says:

the owl is expecting a straightforward and specific confession
